Abstract
The theoretical and methodological foundations that support the teaching-learning process of the Self Defense subject in the Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Sports career are presented. These fundamentals are pertinent for the support of changes that allow the improvement of student learning and the implementation of didactic strategies to carry out a better motivation of students and increase their active participation in classes based on the improvement of academic performance.
