Lifestyle in diabetics during the COVID-19 pandemic: comparison in two communities.
Abstract
COVID-19 brought drastic changes in the life of the population, mainly of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus; Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the lifestyle of patients with DM2 in an urban and rural community during the COVID-19 pandemic. A quantitative and cross-sectional study was carried out and the sample consisted of 61 patients, the IMEVID instrument was applied; Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used. The results showed a moderately healthy lifestyle in both communities, and in the information dimension about diabetes, the urban one has more knowledge than the rural one, although both groups must modify the lifestyle for healthy behaviors and thus have a quality old age.
