Abstract

Institutions of Higher Education in Mexico recognize that the research competence is basic in the educational processes in the training of engineers. This article describes the construction of an analytical rubric, highlighting the pedagogical function of the evaluation to identify the domain of the research competence in the context of engineering. The rubric proposal was carried out at the TecNM Campus located in the southeast of Mexico under a qualitative methodological approach. The rubric was applied to the final product of 146 resident students from six engineering programs. The results reveal that the proposed rubric makes visible the training needs in the research competence; The proposal contributes to continuous improvement to form human capital in the research field.
