Abstract

The objective of this investigative work is to reveal outstanding content in scientific publications that allow educating the population about the clinical-epidemiological characteristics of the disease caused by the new coronavirus and its association with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. The clinical manifestations caused by SARS-CoV-2 in children are usually mild, unlike those presented in adults; Research associates COVID-19 with the multisystem inflammatory syndrome that occurs in infants, evidencing a past or present infection. This has been done through an updated bibliographic review in search engines such as PubMed, Medline, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and Clinical Key, complementing the information with journals such as Scielo and Scopus.
