Abstract
The objective of this article is to compile, based on a review of the literature, the causes associated with poor school performance of students in childhood, detecting that the application of traditional methodologies by teachers, basic skills In students, the socio-economic-cultural environment of the family and the participation of parents in academic training are factors that affect poor school performance, also emphasizing the importance of the first experience of children at an early age. . These results warrant immediate action by the authorities in order to mitigate the effects of poor school performance.
