Abstract

The objective of this work is to improve the social adaptation of older adults with cognitive impairment, since these people are having both physical and intellectual changes that hinder their autonomy in carrying out activities of daily life and in their communication; therefore, the design and implementation of an alternative communication system is useful for both the caregiver and the patient, since it optimizes the transmission of their basic needs, having a better adaptation in their social environment, which makes people older adults with cognitive impairment feel good about themselves and the environment that surrounds them, raising their self-esteem and improving their quality of life.
