Abstract

The objective of this work is the scientific publication of this clinical case for academic purposes, associated with serious complications caused by COVID-19, such as acute respiratory failure, mild respiratory distress syndrome and severe pneumonia, with acute respiratory distress syndrome being the main topic of the study. Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with local or systemic non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema is characterized by fever and severe respiratory distress. This study was carried out through clinical history, bibliographic-documentary research and interviews with treating physicians. It is concluded that these patients who present a high risk of short and long-term complications, with early invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) and high ventilatory frequency, their recovery is progressive.
