Abstract

The research aims to review the clinical-epidemiological features of monkeypox, preventive measures and treatment to follow. It seeks to demonstrate the health and social problems that it represents worldwide. Monkeypox is considered a global emergency, caused by zoonoses from natural reservoirs in African jungles and forests. Documentary and inductive-deductive analysis methods were used. The results of the research show the changes that the disease has had in its transmission pattern and decreased immunity. As a conclusion, the risks of propagation by sexual practice and perpetuation in the affected regions were analyzed, since due to the risk it represents, it was declared a health emergency.
