Abstract

The management of burns throughout history has been a great challenge for health professionals, due to the large number of consequences it causes. Currently, there are no number of occlusive dressings, which have high prices, so alternatives have been sought that have similar or better results at more affordable prices. One of the most important discoveries made by Brazilian doctors is the use of tilapia skin as an alternative in the treatment of deep burns, due to its high collagen content. This bibliographic review represents the effectiveness of this innovation, which due to its great results must be adapted as a legacy worldwide.
