Abstract

The objective of this research is to be able to distinguish oral problems that occur in people with HIV. Some of these alterations or problems can be chronic dry mouth, gingivitis, bone loss around the teeth, canker sores or mouth sores, oral warts, fever blisters, candidiasis of the mouth, hairy leukoplakia and dental caries. We worked through the research method through bibliographic reviews in databases, in order to obtain studies on oral alterations in patients with HIV. After analyzing all the data obtained, it was concluded that oral manifestations can occur at all stages of HIV infection, being among the most common erythematous and pseudomembranous candidiasis.
