Abstract

This essay seeks to understand the relationship of truth to subjective and objective perspectives in formal educational contexts. To clarify this relationship, a dialectical discussion was developed between the philosophical meanings of subjective, objective and truth. It was recognized that truth in educational settings is inherent to both categories, however, these would be represented in partial terms, where intersubjectivity is one of the main representations of objectivity. Both subjective and objective techniques could be reliable to verify pedagogical truths, so some examples are presented to favor the understanding of this idea. It is considered necessary to rethink the interpretations in the educational culture that excessively distrust subjectivity.
