Music therapy as socio-emotional support in young people with intellectual disabilities.
Abstract
The present study is established through the objective that allows to identify the influence of music therapy as socio-emotional support in young people with intellectual disabilities. The methodology of this research is based on a bibliographical review with a systematic analysis and a non-experimental qualitative approach, obtaining as a result that the methods particularly applied in this type of cases as socio-emotional support are used through active, passive or receptive techniques, identifying how music therapy optimizes cognitive processes intervening holistically, establishing a relationship in the analytical technique that detects, improves and prevents socio-emotional problems in young people with intellectual disabilities, concluding that music therapy generated notable changes by applying receptive and recreational methods that influence the emotional, cognitive and social part.
