Abstract

Decentralization is a policy that in recent decades has gained momentum worldwide; however, it continues to be a subject that is highly discussed and loaded with uncertainties regarding its advantages. In this sense, this article presents a documentary review of the particularities and benefits of decentralization in some countries. For this study, we worked with documentary research at the explanatory level, and it was developed in the phases of planning, development and preparation of the report. In the conclusions, it was emphasized that in Peru, despite the fact that some progress has already been made on this issue, policies must continue to be developed that allow better decentralization for the benefits of its citizens.
