Study on the consequences in the musculoskeletal apparatus of dentists due to bad posture.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the different consequences that dentists suffer in the musculoskeletal system, due to a bad posture during their dental practices. The problem that can be delimited in this matter is that the positions and work postures of the dentist have been changing over time, generally conditioned by the equipment and instruments available. The investigative method applied in this work was of a non-experimental, qualitative, and quantitative nature that allowed the analysis of the problem through the search in bibliographic sources. It was concluded that musculoskeletal diseases due to poor posture tend to be caused by psychosocial, biomechanical, environmental, and individual components, which contribute to the origin of these disorders in the dental professional, with the upper extremities being the most affected.
