Abstract

This work is focused on the epidemiological surveillance, treatment, and control of salmonellosis. The objective of the research is to learn about aspects related to salmonellosis such as transmission, symptoms, and treatment. A qualitative, documentary, and non-experimental systematic review was carried out, through a search of articles in databases. Salmonella is directly related to food safety and is transmitted by ingesting contaminated food or water or by contact with contaminated people. As a conclusion, it was obtained that salmonella contamination is diverse, although one of the most important sources is birds, which can affect the safety of consumers.
