Abstract

A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, with the objective of characterizing rotator cuff disease in patients treated at the Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital, Santiago de Cuba, from January 2018 to April 2020. The universe consisted of 132 patients of both sexes and over 20 years of age. The statistical treatment of the data was carried out using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 20.0) computerized statistical system. A predominance of the female sex was observed in ages between 50 - 59 years. The most frequent clinical manifestation was shoulder pain, there was an increase in thickness, echogenicity of the tendon and echogenic foci on ultrasound. The most affected tendon was the supraspinatus tendon.
