Abstract

The Manta General Hospital, according to the policies of the Ministry of Public Health, is a highly complex second level hospital, and within its powers is to provide trauma care in the central and southern areas of Manabí. Abdominal trauma has a significant morbidity and mortality, since abdominal injuries represent between 20 and 35% of the causes of death in trauma patients. The main objective of this study is to know the management of blunt abdominal trauma in said hospital and to identify errors that are made based on the ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) standards. It is important to identify these errors, since by recognizing and improving them favorable results can be obtained for the patient.
