Non-puerperal uterine inversion in an elderly woman. About a case.
Abstract
Uterine inversion is an entity that does not occur very frequently in the gynecology area; despite this, it is considered an emergency. The non-puerperal form is described in situations related to benign or malignant tumors of the uterine body. We present the case of a 63-year-old patient who came to the clinic with a clinical picture characterized by intense cramping pain in the hypogastrium and vaginal bleeding of 15 days of evolution. The gynecological physical examination reveals a vaginal tumor with necrotic tissue and clots. A nuclear magnetic resonance was requested, obtaining a diagnosis of uterine inversion, for which an abdominal hysterectomy was performed with favorable evolution.
