Abstract

This study is a systematic review of the analytical, descriptive, quantitative and retrospective literature by reviewing the available scientific evidence. The neonatal period is the period of time from birth to the first 28 days of life, time in which it experiences a greater susceptibility to factors such as the immaturity of its immune system. The literature review allowed an in-depth analysis of the scientific evidence available in the last 5 years. The results determine an association of enteral nutrition with the appearance of necrotizing enterocolitis that is superior to the benefits obtained from the implementation of enteral nutrition.
