Mental health for the prevention of addictive substance use in high school adolescents.
Abstract
With the objective of analyzing the relationship between mental health and the consumption of addictive substances, a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, with a sample of 101 adolescents to whom the Questionnaire for Screening Problems in Adolescents was applied. It was obtained as a result that 37.7% presented risk in terms of substance use and 51.5% in the mental health dimension; a significance level of .373 was found. It is concluded that a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach is carried out, designing, and implementing self-care strategies to promote mental health and prevent addictions in adolescents.
