Abstract

This article is the result of an investigation whose purpose was to identify the appropriate traditional games that contribute to the socio-emotional development of children in initial education II of the Pujilí canton. In this study, the qualitative-quantitative methodology was applied, followed by a descriptive study that determined that the confinement by COVID-19 affected the socio-emotional development of children; In addition, the proposal was to design a guide based on traditional games with innovative pedagogical changes, and through the application a positive change was observed in children, showing interrelation with others, expression of their feelings, communication and participation in each game.
