Fatalism due to COVID-19 and attitude towards alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and inhalants in engineering university students from Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
Abstract
The objective of the research is to describe the relationship between fatalism due to COVID-19 and the attitude towards drugs in civil engineering students from Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The design was cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational; convenience sampling, interviewing 80 students from the morning shift. The statistical package SPSS v24 was used for the analysis. A sociodemographic data card, the attitude toward drugs subscale, and the COVID-19 fatalism scale were applied. The results show a predominance of men, single, dedicated only to studying with an average age of 20.19. There was a positive and very significant association between the variables with a worrying 18.8% very favorable attitude towards alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and inhalants and 75% present fatalism.
