Risk factors related to the sexual transmission of HIV in the Trans and Cisgender population.
Abstract
Various studies have highlighted the Transgender population as a highly vulnerable community to the sexual transmission of HIV. This research aimed to compare the risk factors related to sexual transmission of HIV in a group of people from the trans community and a group of people who identify as cisgender. 40 people between the ages of 18 and 38 participated. The Questionnaire on competencies in the prevention of HIV/AIDS was used. The results showed similar risk factors that threaten the sexual health of both populations equally. It is recommended that programs and services related to HIV prevention take into account the biological, psychological and social needs of each group.
