Design and validation of an instrument to assess knowledge of nursing care on CVC.
Abstract
Education and research represent a fundamental support to generate knowledge, with the validation of instruments being a dimension with methodological rigor to measure and evaluate competences. A psychometric methodological study was developed, with the aim of designing and validating an instrument to assess knowledge of nursing care on central venous catheter; With a sample of 229 nurses, the process was carried out in two stages, internal and external validity; the first included: content validity, construct validity and reliability. The second included criterion validity, stability and performance, obtaining an (IVC=0.89) by judging experts; four factors explain 65% of the total variance; reliability (Cronbach's Alpha= 0.91), adjusted by dimensions 0.84; predictive capacity (R2=0.87), sensitivity 85%.
