A cultural look at the artisan world of the South Coast of Peru in a context of sustainability.
Abstract
The main objective of the research was to describe the artisanal cultural history from a sustainable perspective. The study corresponds to the qualitative approach of ethnographic design with a sample of seven local artisans from the district of Grocio Prado, province of Chincha, in the department of Ica in Peru, using the interview technique and the instrument was the interview guide. The results indicate that artisans have an important cultural legacy in the district of Grocio Prado in the province of Chincha, with artisan work being a factor of social development in its inhabitants that is shared for generations; concluding that craftsmanship generates sustainable value by working with reed and cattail: natural fibers that do not harm the environment.
