Knowledge of the cultural competencies that translation and interpreting students must develop when translating and interpreting.
Abstract
This article talks about the cultural competencies that must be developed in translation and interpreting students, and among the problems that are addressed in this topic are: the inability to fulfill the role of cultural intermediary between one's own culture and that of others as well as effectively deal with cross-cultural misunderstandings and conflict situations. The objective of this research work is to know the cultural competences that students must develop in the area of translation and interpretation when translating or interpreting. The methodology used in this work was quantitative with a questionnaire applied, resulting in that the students do have these competencies that were sought, such as cultural competencies and intercultural competencies.
