Nomophobia and its challenges: analysis of its importance through scientific publications.

Abstract

The term "Nomophobia" comes from "No-Mobile-Phone Phobia", which means fear of being without a mobile phone. The literature associates it with a series of adverse effects that especially affect young people. This research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the importance and challenges that nomophobia poses to society through the characterization of the panorama of scientific publications related to this topic. For this, a search was conducted on the Web of Science for articles published up to 2022. The first work was published in 2010 and interest in this topic has grown since 2016. It is expected that in the coming years numerous interdisciplinary studies will be carried out given its high relevance for society.
