Evaluation of the usability with automated tools of the web curricular map of a higher-level educational program.
Abstract
Nowadays, computers and mobile devices are often used for work, academic and leisure purposes, to name a few. The objective of this work is to measure the usability of the curriculum map hosted on the official site of the Polytechnic University of Victoria for desktop and the same curriculum map, adapted for mobile devices. The automated tools GTmetrix, SEOptimer and MobiReady were used for the evaluations. Errors and warnings were found that do not affect performance, highlighting that the desktop site is not optimized for mobile devices and vice versa. It was suggested to refactor and merge both versions in order to provide a good experience for visitors and contribute to better results in future evaluations.
