Abstract

A novel approach to determine the carbon content in A36 steel by analyzing metallographic images using the OpenCV library is presented in the study. The proposed method is based on a robust and standardized methodology for the preparation of metallographic samples developed by UNIANDES teachers in collaboration with a specialized laboratory. The results obtained provide valuable information for the design and development of materials in various fields of engineering and scientific research.
