Abstract
The study was carried out at the Tulcán Social Readaptation Center in the province of Carchi with the objective of developing intervention strategies to stop the spread of HIV-AIDS among people with restricted liberty. For data collection, a descriptive, qualitative and quantitative methodology was used, field research techniques and surveys were also used. The findings showed that 70% of the prison population understood that HIV is a deadly disease, 50% knew that it can be transmitted through unprotected sexual contact with another infected person, and 50% were unaware that they could fight the infection. illness at first sexual intercourse.
