Abstract

Anemia, mostly observed at ages or stages in which the body requires a greater amount of hemoglobin, such as in childhood or pregnancy, are major points of attention in terms of investigation and treatment; however, being a pathology of multifactorial origin, it may be triggered as a consequence of another condition, which is more frequent in older adults, as developed in the present clinical case of an older adult, a 68-year-old male, who by age and in combination with a digestive disorder, she progressively developed a picture of moderate iron deficiency anemia, currently requiring timely treatment and diagnosis, since her condition could worsen, increasing her hospital stay, procedures, treatment, as well as her vulnerability.
