Nursing interventions for a patient diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
Abstract
A 41-year-old female patient is admitted to the emergency department due to hyperthermia after receiving her dose of chemotherapy with cytarabine, which has a confirmed diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. Due to the clinical data, she is treated with antibiotics, transfusion of blood products, platelet concentrate, and erythrocyte concentrate, performing a nursing assessment based on Marjory Gordon's functional patterns and describing those that compromise her state of health. An individualized care plan is made based on the patient's specific diagnoses. The application of the nursing care process allows offering the patient comprehensive care to provide quality care, in addition to constituting an essential action in the improvement of the patient.
