Prevention of pressure ulcers in critical patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units: a nursing perspective.
Abstract
In the present study, the problem of pressure ulcers in critical patients with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the General Teaching Provincial Hospital is addressed. The main objective was to design a Nursing Care Plan that specifically focuses on the prevention of pressure ulcers in critical patients with COVID-19 in the ICU, for which a mixed methodological approach was used that combines qualitative and quantitative elements. , field, action and cross-sectional research, with a descriptive and exploratory scope. The data collection instrument was a survey composed of nine multiple-choice questions, which allowed obtaining information on the knowledge and practices of nursing professionals in the prevention of pressure ulcers.
