Abstract

The objective was to develop and validate an instrument for measuring the factors of structural violence in female sex workers. The development of the questionnaire was based on WALTZ's strategies for designing measurement tools and procedures, the selection of a conceptual model to delineate the nursing or health care aspects of the measurement process, and the explanation of measurement objectives. The questionnaire consisted of 6 items with Cronbach's alpha internal consistency of 0.80, and a factor with an explanation of 40.73% was established. In the confirmatory factor analysis, the goodness of fit indices was acceptable (GFI=0.95, CFI=0.94, RMSEA=0.47). This instrument makes it possible to identify structural violence in MTS.
