Realities in the learning and evaluation of mathematics at the high school level: Polytechnic University of Atlautla of the State of Mexico.
Abstract
In Mexico, in accordance with the guidelines given by the Ministry of Public Education, it is recommended at the beginning of each school year to carry out a diagnostic evaluation to know the level of knowledge that students who begin their new period of study have. This instrument applied to higher level engineering and administration students is what allowed them to identify their knowledge gaps in mathematics. The results of this research show some of the cognitive and psychological limitations faced by students at the Polytechnic University of Atlautla in the State of Mexico in this subject as well as that learning in previous cycles has left aside reasoning and has privileged rote learning.
