Scientific research and its administration in Mexico. The background of the National Council of Science and Technology.
Abstract
This article analyzes the development of the process of institutionalization of scientific research in the period 1936-1950, with the aim of delving into the background of the National Council of Science and Technology. It is a historical article of an argumentative nature. Thirty scientific documents were reviewed, the result of searches in databases such as Scopus and Web of Science; Evidence from primary sources extracted from the General public archives of the Nation and the Historical Archive of the Ministry of Public Education are included, as well as from the Collection of Doctor Humberto Monteón González. This work maintains that the administration of scientific research before 1970 must be analyzed through the study of four relevant institutions of the period.
