Abstract

The study recovers and compares part of the results obtained in two investigations carried out in Uruguay, which investigated the meanings and orientations of the sports teachings of 12 teachers who work in formal and non-informal education contexts. The results show the widespread concern of teachers to facilitate interpersonal ties between sports practitioners, and as the main rupture, the exaltation of the game component in formal education and the concern for obtaining success in sports competitions in education. Not formal. It is concluded that we are facing an (un)critical sports education whose teaching does not include the spectator, neither the sports spectacle, nor the consumption of sports products and services.
