Abstract

Burnout syndrome, linked to work stress, is common in high workload environments, causing psychological discomfort. This study aims to determine its prevalence in the teaching staff of the faculties of medical sciences and legal sciences of the Regional Autonomous University of Los Andes, Santo Domingo Campus, between October 2022 and March 2023. The quantitative and descriptive methodology involves the faculty, with a non-random sample who completed specific surveys. The results, based on the "Maslach Burnout Inventory" scale, reveal a higher prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in the Faculty of Medical Sciences compared to the Faculty of Legal Sciences. This indicates significant physical and mental exhaustion in teachers.
