Evaluation of nutritional status and physical well-being in the foundation 'Amigos de la Tercera Edad' in Santo Domingo, Ecuador.
Abstract
The research focuses on the importance of evaluating and ensuring adequate nutrition and promoting physical activity in the elderly population of the "Friends of the Third Age" Foundation in Santo Domingo, focusing on their nutritional status and physical well-being. Using a descriptive observational approach and surveys such as the Mini Nutritional Assessment and the Physical Activity Survey in Older Adults, it was found that women represent a majority in the 65 to 70 age group, and that the majority of participants do not meet the recommended amount of daily physical activity, as well as having balanced nutrition to preserve their health and prevent diseases related to aging.
