Exploring the construction of identity through the study of the work of Oswaldo Guayasamín.
Abstract
The multifaceted work of Oswaldo Guayasamín, enriched by elements such as pictorial indigenism, social realism, and expressionist portraitism, is distinguished by his role as a muralist, manifesting itself in a striking way in "La Capilla del Hombre." It has been identified that university students of Medical Sciences and Initial Education face challenges when reflecting on the life and legacy of Guayasamín, as well as establishing a personal connection with his work; Therefore, the research question arises: How to promote identity reflection in these students through the works of Guayasamín in "La Capilla del Hombre"? It is proposed to design an action plan that stimulates this identity reflection, enriching their comprehensive training.
