The violation of rights in communities of priority attention in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ecuador.
Abstract
The research used an exploratory approach and interpretive methodology to collect relevant information. It was found that various emergency measures were implemented, such as isolation, suspension of economic activities and travel restrictions, and that the most affected right was health. It is recommended that specific measures be taken to guarantee access to medical care and information, as well as to combat discrimination and stigmatization towards these vulnerable groups. This research identified key challenges in protecting the human rights of priority attention groups during the pandemic, which could be useful for designing policies and programs aimed at their comprehensive protection.
