Guaranteeing the rights of children in detention centers in Ecuador: a comprehensive approach.
Abstract
The study focused on the situation of women and children in penitentiary centers in the country, particularly in the city of Tulcán. A significant lack of knowledge about their fundamental rights was observed, making protection and compliance difficult in accordance with the Constitution and international human rights treaties. The objective of the study was to provide a complete description of the protection provided to minors in detention centers in Ecuador. The research approach was positivist with a quantitative perspective. The design was based on the documentary paradigm with content analysis, focused on written documents such as academic works and scientific journals, applying the analytical-synthetic method for data analysis.
