Abstract

The study addresses consumers and their impact when they fall victim to false promotions that are harmful. A quantitative approach is used, applying methods of search, compilation, and criticism of documents, which focus on the interpretation of the law. A questionnaire was carried out that involved 10 judges, 5 officials of the Ombudsman's Office, 10 university professors, 15 practicing lawyers and 10 general users. The conclusions highlight the need for the State to establish effective procedures in legislation to prevent and resolve conflicts. The incorporation of new administrative procedures in the Consumer Protection Law is proposed that allow for addressing alleged violations of its provisions, as well as its regulations and resolutions.
