Migration from an Ecuadorian legal perspective: a focus on human rights.
Abstract
Currently, in democratic countries, it is crucial to guarantee human rights as a state policy, and within this context, migration is presented as the right of people to move by their own choice or due to particular circumstances. In this study, the Ecuadorian legal perspective of human rights and migration is addressed. Using a quantitative approach, we explore numerical and statistical data related to migration through documentary review, including primary sources, laws, research, theses and international agreements. The results allowed the integration of human rights and migration in the Ecuadorian legal context, where the state must urgently review its public policies to ensure the well-being of its citizens.
