The role of mediation in Ecuador as an approach to conflict resolution and the promotion of a culture of peace.
Abstract
This study highlights the effectiveness of mediation in Ecuador to resolve citizen conflicts. Conflicts are common and natural in everyday life due to differences of opinions and interests. Mediation, as an innovative method, offers a more agile and simple way compared to traditional judicial processes, avoiding the need to resort to the courts. This saves time and resources, both financial and emotional. In mediation, the parties involved work with a neutral mediator to reach acceptable agreements outside the judicial system, thus resolving conflicts. The creation and expansion of Mediation Centers throughout the country has alleviated the case load in the courts, promoting a new form of social coexistence.
