Legal consequences of tax havens in Ecuador for the period 2021-2022.

Abstract

Tax havens in Ecuador have a long history outside the law, which has developed since the 1980s. These tax havens not only affect Ecuador, but also other developing countries due to their fiscal and tax policies. The objective of this study is to analyze the legal impact of tax havens in Ecuador. Although it is not illegal to invest in these tax havens from the Ecuadorian point of view, it does have a direct economic and legal impact, since it contributes to tax evasion, a constantly growing phenomenon. Current data supports this worrying trend.
