Pedagogy of depth and breadth. A decolonial perspective based on Gabriela Mistral and Enrique Dussel.
Abstract
Education in Latin America is developing various epistemological dialogues on decoloniality. In this context, it is considered pertinent to reflect on the contributions of Gabriela Mistral and Enrique Dussel, who have shown epistemic paths to face with complexity the new pedagogical challenges of the 21st century. In both personalities the desire to provide breadth and depth to the decolonial challenge is identified. Gabriela Mistral's humanizing desire for pedagogical practices stands out, marked by the recognition of affectivity, autonomy, moral formation, and sociocultural emancipation. Enrique Dussel's historical clarity stands out regarding the silent patriarchal archetype in Latin American society and his analectic proposal for creative overcoming sociocultural contradictions.
