Career coordinators' perspective on the COVID-19 pandemic in university education.
Abstract
Executive management at the university level plays a critical role in achieving institutional goals, especially in exceptional situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. This study focused on the perception of career coordinators at three private universities regarding decisions, supervision, and evaluation of their impact on academic activities during the pandemic. Using the socio-critical approach and a participant research methodology, 12 faculty-career coordinators were interviewed. The results revealed that these coordinators, despite their supervisory role, consider themselves to be mid-level employees and tend to attribute responsibility for the results of the educational process to other staff members. However, their effort to adapt and design strategies to deal with emergency circumstances is recognized.
