Abstract

The role of parents and teachers is relevant in encouraging women to select STEM careers. The objective of the study was to determine the psychometric properties of a measurement scale for estimating students' perspectives on the support of parents and teachers in promoting careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics in secondary education institutions. higher in rural areas. An exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was developed, and the main indicators of reliability and validity were estimated. It is concluded that the proposed model meets the psychometric attributes necessary to be used in the study of this phenomenon in the context for which it was developed.
