The preservation of privacy and the safeguarding of personal data in the context of social networks: an analysis of their impact on the right to privacy.
Abstract
This project investigates the protection of personal data and the right to privacy in the context of the growing use of social networks in Ecuador. National and international regulations related to online privacy are analyzed, how social networks manage and protect user data, and the awareness of Ecuadorian users about their right to privacy online. Qualitative methods such as surveys and interviews were used. It concludes on the effectiveness of current regulations to protect personal data in a constantly changing digital environment and how platforms can contribute to preserving the right to privacy.
